APPREHENSIONS.

John . Jones perjury; apprehended by Dunedin Detective Police—has been committed for trial. Ellen Anderson^ stealing from the person ; apprehended by the Dunedin Police—has been committed for trial. Daniel Me Cleghan— stealing from an hotel; apprehended by the Dunedin Police—has been committed for trial.

Thomas Barrow —escaping from custody while under committal for trial for horse stealing in September, 1864 vide Police Gazette September 14, 1864, page 96)—has been apprehended by the Christchurch Police. Benjamin Ollenshaw —larceny, stealing an axe; apprehended by the Dunedin Policesentenced to 21 days’ imprisonment.

Barbara Weldon —vagrancy; apprehended by the Dunedin Police—sentenced to 3 months’ imprisonment.

John Freeman —embezzlement apprehended by the. Dunedin Detective Police—stands remanded till the 4th October.

Lawrence Brown horse stealing in .. Southland; apprehended by the Molyneux Police —has been remanded to Southland. Henry F.Begg cattle stealing (see this day’s Gazette) ; has been arrested by the Molyneux Police, and under remand.

Edwin ; Potter larceny; arrested - by the . Queenstown Policesentenced to 2 months’ imprisonment with hard labor.

Joseph Riley —assaulting the Port Chalmers’ Police—sentenced to'l4 days’ hard labor.

Peter Byrne assaulting the Tokomairiro Police in the execution of their dutysentenced to 14 days’ hard labor. -

John Mclntosh —obtaining money by false pretences; apprehended by the Dunstan Police— has been committed for trial.
