INQUESTS.
A magisterial inquiry was held on the 26 th? December, 1863, at Maori Point, by Lowther.Broad, Esq., Resident Magistrate, on the body of William Morrison, aged 22 years, a miner Ji who was accidentally killed by a' fall, whileT under the influence of liquor, at Maori ’ Point > on the 25th December, 1863. Verdict accordingly. Deceased was a native of Glasgow; his nephew, Andrew White, is employed at’ the Queen-street station of the Edinburgh and Glasgow Railway. : .',A
A magisterial inquiry was held on the 17th February, 1864, at the Kataka Hotel, Moeraki by T. W. Parker, Esq., Resident Magistrate’ on the body of John O’Donald, aged 30 years a labourer, who died from exposure in the Moeraki Bush, on the 14th January, 1864. Verdict accordingly.
A magisterial inquiry was held on the 22nd February, 1864, at Abbotsford Station, West Taieri, by James Fulton, Esq., Resident Magistrate, on the body of a man, name unknown, about 40 years old, 5 feet 8 inches hio-fi slender build, dark complexion, dark hair and moustache and goatee, dressed in dark monkey jacket, grey Crimean shirt, moleskin trousers and American boots, which was found hanging by the neck in the stable at Abbotsford Station on|the 19th February, 1864. Verdict, that deceased died from strangulation.

nosed as not to be identifiable, which had been found on the.Sandspit on the 7th March, 1864. Verdict, found; dead on the Sandspit, opposite the township of Port, Molyneux The deceased: is supposed to be one WiHiam .Yates, from the fact that) on the body was _ found a receipt ~jn that name for £25 paid to the Miller’s Flat Dredging. Company on,.the , sth October, 1863, signed by the manager.
