DESERTERS FROM H.M. SERVICE.

Report of Deserters from lI.M. Service in New Zealand, from Wanganui, on 17th

January, 1864: —

57th Regiment of Foot, 3270— Private Richard Long , 34 years old, 5 feet 5 inches high, dark complexion, black hair cut short, grey;' eyes, scar on left side of abdomen. Dressed in summer blue scree trousers; a shoemaker; has a short, shuffling walk ; an Irishman. . *

57th Regiment of Foot, 605 —Private Denis Myers, 23 years old, 5 f et 6£ inches high, fresh complexion, dark brown hair cut short; dressed in summer flue serge trouser, and forage cap ; an Irishman.

Ist Waikato Regiment—Private Richard Nicholls, 5 feet 6 inches high, ‘ stout built, light brown hair, grey eyes, no hair on lace ; by trade a botcher; "is also a fighting man, known by the name of the Ballaarat Chicken.
