Stolen, sometime during the month of November, 1863, from the room of Hen y Thomas Cutten, at Campbell’s Creek, a silver English lever hunting watch, makers C. Price & Co., London, No. 59014, the glass out, a gold wire curb chain affixed to the watch with a piece of twine, the swivel having been broken, it had also been broken in two places and mended in one place with a piece of bottle wire, the other with twine.

Stolen between the hours of 12 midnight the 2nd and 11 a.m. the 3rd January, 1864, from the rocket of a coat hanging up in the bar of the Robert Burns Hotel, George Street, Dunedin, a large sized black leather pocket book, containing about £4O, amongst which were two £5 notes, two half sovereigns, and an American twenty dollar piece; the property of Alexander Morrison, the landlord. The American coin and pocket book only identifiable.

Stolen between the hours of 10 p.m. the sth, and 12£ a.m. the 6th January, 1864, from a bedroom at the Rainbow Hotel, George Street, Dunedin, a ladies’ rosewood dressing case, 15 x 8 or 9 inches, silver mounted, containing a

ladies’ gold geneva watch, gold dial, maker’s me and number unknown, gold guard chain attached, which had been broken in two places and tied together with thread ; 1 common link gold guard ; 1 small and long link pattern do. do.; 1 pair colonial gold ear-rings, chased; 3 wedding rings ; 1 mosaic gold ring set with colored stones; 1 locket with dark hair 1 large gold brooch with garnet in centre; 2 miniature portraits, male and female ; 6 silver tea spoons, marked 13; 2; sovereign's, 1 rupee, and about £6 of threepenny and fourpenny pieces ; the property of Benjamin II all id ay, the landlord ; all identifiable except the coins.

Stolen on the afternoon of the 6th January, 1864, from the person of Anne Daniels, while asleep at Yule’s Boarding House, Bell ill, a black leather clasp purse, containing one £5 note, S. T. on back, twelve £1 notes, a half sovereign, and half-a-crown. Purse and £5 note identifiable.

Stolen some time between the 7th and 10th of January, 1864, from D- Port Chalmers Hotel, Port Chalmers, a gold horizontal openfaced geneva watch, maker, AJolien, Geneva, No. 3319 ; the property of Mr. George Findlay, the landlord.

Stolen between the 9th and 16th January, 1864, from the residence of Mrs. Janet Stephenson, Moray Place, 1 gold four-linked bracelet, with square gold clasp, and 1 hair bracelet with gold clasp and red cornelian heart attached, the property of Mrs. Janet Stephenson.

Stolen about the 11th January, 1864, from the barn of Air. John Hardy, Tokomairiro, a carpet bag, containing 1 pair of light coloured tweed trousers, l do. vest, some dress shirts, marked J. Curran, and other articles, the property of Mr. John Durr an of .Tokomairiro.

Stolen between the hours of 8 and ]]£ p.m., the loth January, 1864, from a bedroom in the Castlemuioe Boarding-house, Cumberland Street, Dunedin, 1 pair of colonial gold carings, vine leaf pattern, 1 gold watch key on chased gold ring, the ring set with pearl* and emeralds, one of the stones wanting, the key was set with white and amber coloured stones at the ton, and a silver dollar, the property of Mrs. Sarah Rabble.

Stolon about 8 p.m. the 14th January, 1864, from the residence of John Johns, North Dunedin, a double barrelled pistol, small square silver plate on handle, T. Al. engraved thereon his property.

A warrant lias been issued bv the Dunedin Bench, for the apprehension "George Lane. , alias Cox, charged with having on the 24th and 26th December, 1863, obtained from Horace Bastings, landlord of the Robin Hood Hotel, Dunedin, the sum of £l6 upon two ■valueless cheques, the one for £lO, the other £6, on the Bank of New South Wah Dunedin Branch, which, upon presentation were marked no account, and the said George Cox never having had any account in the said Bank.

On the 28th,. he obtained .from Mr. W. IT. Ingram, . -watchmaker, Port ‘ Chalmers* a silver lever Hunting Watch, maker, 11. Stamford, London, No. 1610, gold 'Albert chain and key, and a small 'colonial gold ring, with two hearts engrave t thereon, giving in pavment a similar valueless, cheque for £l6, and received £2 ss. change.
