OBITUARY

MR. PATRICK DONOGHUE, ROSLYN, DUNEDIN. .. Mr. Patrick Donohue, one of the fast diminishing early settlers of Roslyn. died recently at his residence, Sligo Terrace, in his ninetieth year. Arriving in New Zealand by the ship Aboukir, he had resided in Roslyn since 1864, and for many years was one of the best known residents of the hill suburb, By his kindly and jovial disposition he endeared himself to his large. circle of. friends and neighbors, and his generosity in time of trouble was well known. Though never aspiring to any. public position, he, like many of the pioneers, took a very active and intelligent interest in the various questions of public advancement affecting the community. The late Mr. Donoghue was predeceased by his wife some 24 years ago, and leaves a family of one daughter aW one son to mourn their loss—R.l.P. ——
