At both Masses yesterday appeals were made to; parents to send their children 1 regularly and punctually so as to make up for, as much lost time as possible. The usual fortnightly socials for the win-: ter months have recommenced and promise to be as successful as ever. At a committee meeting’ held recently, Mr, P. Histen was anointed 'secretary and Mr, T. Sheen treajr for i the ensuing year. i As a result of the recent mission by, Rev. McGrath, S.M., and a kindly, .word froln the preacher, the ranks of the local Hibernians have been increased, and the office-bearers are making a raid for still further members. ,v > , \ - *l. .

On Anzac Day a special’ Requiem Mass was celebrated in St. Joseph’s Church by. Rev. Rather Moloney, S.M., at which there was a very largo attendance. Father Moloney also preached. During the Mass suitable hymns were sung by the choir, and at the conclusion of Mass the “Dead Mass” from “Saul” was played by the organist (Miss C. Goughian). The beautiful memorial erected in the church to the memory of the.deceased soldier parishioners was specially decorated for the occasion. Drc'Cbwen, late of "Wellington, has purchased Dr. Hogg’s practice in Temuka. He arrived here during the week, and has already made himself favorably known.
