Some two years ago the districts of Johnsouville, Khandallah, Ngaio, Porirua, Ohariu, and Plimmerton were constituted a parish. They were formerly attached, to the Lower Mutt parish, which was then administered by the late Dean Lane. The Rev. Father Griffin was appointed rector of the 11 c " b formed parish. As there was no residence for the priest it was Father Griffin’s first ax ork to secure one, and by means of concerts, euchre parties, donations, etc., he was able to raise approximately £IBOO. The plans were entrusted to Mr. Williams and the successful tenderer was Mr. T. Aloynihan. The location fixed as the headquarters of the parish is Johnsonville, and there a handsome presbytery in brick was erected. His Grace Archbishop O’Shea recently blessed and opened the building in the presence of a large assembly. Many of the
