One shilling. -The best-seller in Australasia for many a day was John / O'Brien's volume of poems, Hound the lioree Log. Its rhymes vere music; its lessons were wholesome; its message was from heart to heart. So it won its way into thousands of homes, and people were everywhere repeating its pages. In this his latest volume, Father Hull grapples with a problem of vast importance to Christian missionaries, and of no small interest to Catholic readers in general. The book is an attempt to explain a fact about which there is no dispute, namely, that India furnishes a puzzle to the Christian missionary; and most people have settled down by this time to the conclusion that it is a baffling puzzle. Father Hull thinks the puzzle can be solved, and his chap- * ters point the way. It is an interesting study and the book is in keeping with the author's reputation for thought and scholarship.
