Apropos the alleged Irish news appearing in the papers of Canada and the United States, a story is told illustrating its reliability and how largely it is fabricated (says the liecnster and Extension, Toronto). A London editor,' hearing that there had been a riot in a small Irish town, wired to his correspondent: “Send three hundred words riot” The correspondent telegraphed back: “No riot but will arrange one this afternoon.” That correspondent would have made a good historian of Irish events, as Irish history is written in our daily press.
