Right Rev Dr. Liston, Coadjutor-Bishop of Auckland, paid an official visit to Te Kuiti on Friday, the 16th inst. On Saturday afternoon his Lordship was entertained at a reception in the convent grounds, where a large number of parishioners had the pleasure of making his acquaint- > +i’ - 0n Sunday morning, Dr. Liston, accompanied by P ather 0 Flynn, motored to Pio Pio and Aria, and at the latter place his Lordship administered the Sacrament of Continuation to a number of Maori candidates. At devotions at le Kuiti on Sunday evening, Bishop Liston preached an impressive sermon, and afterwards his Lordship administered Confirmation to about 20 children and adults. During his stay in Te Kuiti Dr. Liston was the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Doolan. The first annual picnic in connection with the convent school was held at the Viaduct on the 15th inst:,. and, avored with ideal weather, the outing for;the children was very enjoyable The committee who worked so energetic.a y with the Sisters of St. Joseph to bring the picnic to such a successful issue comprised Mesdqmes Gunson, Greaney, Park, and Shields-Hogan, and Messrs. Cotter, Greaney, and Daly. The committee are indebted to Father 0 Flynn and Messrs. Parker, Rothery, Daly, and Dr. Will, who kindly lent their cars to convey the children to and from the picnic ground. ' >
