A PRINCE BECOMES A PRIEST.

Rev. Father H. Roch, of the Congregation of the Missionaries of the Holy Family (says an exchange), writes from Grove (Holland). “The news that Crown Prince George, of Saxony, is preparing himself for the priesthood at Tubingen, did not surprise me in the least. During the war I was attached as Army Chaplain to the 104th Infantry Regiment of which Prince George was the Commandant. During the campaigns in Russia and in the north of France, 1 used daily to say Holy Mass in his tent, during which he reeeivjcd Holy Communion with the greatest, devotion. If for certain reasons I had to say Mass elsewhere, he requested me to let him at least receive Holy Communion. Very often he served Mass and did this with such piety that the officers and soldiers present were deeply impressed. Notwithstanding the bitter freezing cold in Russia, he regarded it a pleasure to go out personally and collect green twigs and branches, etc., wherewith to decorate our little altar. No wonder that such a soul fostered a desire to serve a Master worthy of a better cause.”
