ANOTHER MARTYR.
Francis Aidan Gleeson was buried on May 12 in Glasnevin Cemetery in the Martyrs’ Circle. The extraordinary manifestation of public sympathy as the cortege passed through' the city recalled the day that poor Thomas Ashe was borne to the grave. The Lord Mayor and upwards of 50 members of the Corporation were in attendance, whilst Dail Eireann was specially represented. xi. A notable feature of the funeral procession was the big display of organised Labor. rr T Gl f e f n died after an operation for appendicitis. He had been hunger striking in Mountjoy Prison and was too weak to undergo the necessary operation’. •
