The St. Patrick’s Harriers held their run on Saturday from the residence of Mr. J. B.‘Callan, jun., Cargill Street. The pack, under -Captain Fitzgerald, led off along Cargill Street up to Roslyn, branching off to the Kaikorai Valley Road, which was followed to the Roslyn Mills., The pack then turned, and a very fast run home ensued. The harriers were suitably entertained by Mr. and Mrs. Callan, and a most enjoyable evening was spent. The ladies of St. Joseph’s Sewing Guild, who meet at St. Joseph’s Hall on each Wednesday afternoon to make up clothing for, and otherwise interest themselves in the welfare of orphan children, wish it known that they have a quantity of wool on hand, and would be glad if knitters desirous of helping in the good work would call for a supply and knit socks or stockings for the many orphans now being attended to. The guild also desires to ’ acknowledge donations from Mesdames Hall, Nees, Williams, Russell, Glass, and Wilson, Misses Dunn, Bell, Staunton, O’Keefe, Tre"love, Morrissey, O’Connor, and McKeowen, and two anonymous donors.
