Bishop • Verdon at St. Joseph's Cathedral, Dunedin, in 1904, and has since been stationed at Holy Cross College, filling the office, of parish priest of Mosgiel for some years, and also professor at the college prior to 1910, when he was appointed Rector. The news of Dr. Liston's elevation to the episcopate was received with much delight by his numerous friends, tinged, however, with regret at his pending departure from amongst the people of the district,- to whom ho has greatly endeared himself.
