AN ENGLISHMAN’S TRIBUTE TO ARCHBISHOP MANNIX.
When his Grace Archbishop Mannix arrived to take his place at the head of the recent St. Patrick’s Day procession at Melbourne, a gentleman stepped forward and handed him . a shamrock plant, which was tied up with green ribbons, with a card upon which was written: “A little real shamrock from a true Englishman.” His Grace seemed to appreciate very-much the respect and wish for Ireland which the donor wished the little gift to convey.
