(From our own correspondent.) April 6. ■ We are all very pleased to see Miss Leahy restored to health, and hope soon to see her resuming the position of organist, which she has capably filled for many years.

' Holy Week was observed with the usual solemnities. On Holy - Thursday ( the Mass was celebrated ,by * the' Right Rev. Mgr, Mahoney, and large numbers approached the Holy -Table/ During the day a steady stream of worshippers kept watch before the Altar of Repose. The Mass of the Pre-sanctified, celebrated by Mgr. Mahoney on Good Friday, was numerously attended. There® was the devotion of - the ■- Stations of the ■ Cross' in the afternoon/, followed by an •* impressive sermon on the Passion by Father O’Byrne, rt A record number approached the Holy Table at early Mass on Easter Sunday. At 10 o’clock Mass (Missa Cantata) Father O’Byrne was celebrant, 7 the incidental music being very capably rendered by the choir. _At the evening devotions Father O’Byrne preached a sermon appropriate of the great feast of the day. ; V On Sunday afternoon the mortal remains of little h’cggy Holton, a child who during her short life of nine years was remarkable for a great devotion to God’s Altar, being continually associated with the Sister Sacristan in beautifying everything relating to it and its surroundings, were laid to rest at Waikaraka Cemetery. Her funeral was numerously attended by the parishioners, and also by the school children, who carried the remains from (lie hearse to and from the church and to the graveside. Father O’Byrne, who officiated at the interment, briefly but feelingly referred to the deceased.
