HIS GRACE ARCHBISHOP O’SHEA
. : SILVER JUBILEE PRESENTATION. The silver jubilee of the ordination to the priesthood of his Grace the Most Rev. Dr. O'Shea, S.M., CoadjutorArchbishop of Wellington (writes our own correspondent), was, it will be remembered, celebrated in 1918, but the preparations made to fittingly observe the occasion were interfered with by the then outbreak of influenza. At a largely-attended gathering in Wellington recently Mr. J. J. L. Burke, hon." secretary of Archbishop O'Shea's Silver Jubilee Committee, in presenting his Grace with a cheque for a substantial amount, subscribed by the various parishes of the archdiocese, paid a glowing tribute to the work of the Archbishop, and wished him long years of service in the Lord's vineyard. Rev. Father Hurley, S.M., as president of the Wellington Diocesan Council of the Catholic Federation, presented his Grace with a handsome Pectoral Cross, and in doing so referred to his Grace as the founder of the Federation. His Grace briefly replied, thanking the donors throughout tho archdiocese and the Federation for their thoughtful and kindly act. Among the clergy present were Rev. Fathers Smyth, S.M., Mangah, C.SS.R., M. Murphy, S.M., J. F. O'Connor, S.M., Bowe, and O'Connor.
