Napier

There passed away recently at Mittagong, N.S. Wales, the Rev. Brother Papinien, who was the founder and first director of the Marist Brothers' School in Napier (writes a correspondent). lie will probably be better remembered under the name of Brother John by the boys who attended the school between the years 1878 and 1883. In the latter year,, owing to ill health, he was recalled to Sydney, where he labored zealously up to the time of his peaceful and happy death. He was of a most gentle and retiring disposition, and passed his long life doing good quietly and modestly. He died. on March 12 at, the age of 81 years. R.I.
