WEDDING BELLS

TATE—-KEPPEL. A pretty wedding took place at the Sacred Heart Church, Manaia, on August 7,. when Miss Mary Keppel, third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. Keppel, of Kaupokonui, was married to Mr. Herbert Tate, fourth son of Mr. A. A. Tate, Birch Cottage, Hagley, Worcestershire, England. Father Saunderson officiated. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a dainty pinafore dress of ivory crepe de chine, blouse of white ninon over shell pink, prettily finished with French knots. She also wore a beautiful veil of embroidered tulle, arranged in mob cap style, with pearls and orange blossoms, the gift of her aunt, Mrs. O'Reilly. She carried a shower bouquet of white flowers, asparagus, and maiden hair fern. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Julia Keppel, and Miss Minnie Tate, sister of the bridegroom, who were attired in pretty dresses of white crepe de chine, finished with old gold French knots, and black panne velvet hats. Each carried a pretty bouquet of pink and white heather. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. D. Keppel as best man and Mr. G. Shannon as groomsman. Mrs. Hilles played the "Wedding March." A reception was afterwards held at the residence of the bride's parents, where the guests sat down to a sumptuous breakfast. Father Saunderson presided, and the usual toasts were duly honored. In the afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Tate left by car for Wanganui, en route for Auckland, where the honeymoon was spent. The bride's travelling costume was of nigger brown gaberdine, with hat to match. She also wore a beautiful set of fitch furs, the gift of the bridegroom. The bride's gift to the bridegroom was a writing desk ; the gifts to the bridesmaids were cheques. A quiet wedding took place at the Christchurch Catholic Cathedral on Monday, August 19, the contracting parties being Corporal Hedley McKerrow, of the Medical Corps, 41st Reinforcements, and Miss Ivy Eileen Campbell, third daughter of ex-Sergeant-detective Campbell, Island Bay, Wellington. The ceremony was conducted by the Rev. Dr. Kennedy, A dm. The bridesmaid was Miss K. McSweeney; and Mr. J. Gieseking, of Greymouth, attended as best man. The bride, who 'was given away by her brother (Mr. Eric Campbell, of the Audit Department, Wellington), looked very charming in a dainty frock of cream georgette, trimmed with lace, and wired hat to match. She carried a lovely ivory-bound prayer book. The bridesmaid's dress was of pale blue crepe de chine. The bridegroom's present to the bride was a gold bangle, and to the bridesmaid a gold pendant. After the ceremony the party adjourned to Broadway's Tea Rooms, where the wedding breakfast was partaken of and the usual toasts honored. The bride's travelling costume was of nigger brown, with black hat. The newly-wedded couple left by the mid-day express for Oamaru, where the honeymoon was spent.
