ROLL OF HONOR
PRIVATE J. J. IT. MURRAY. Private Jack Murray, son of Mr. and Airs. P. A. Murray, of Newlands, Johnsonville (their only child), was killed in action on July 16. The deceased was-
SERGEANT W. IT. L. BROOKS.. A military funeral was accorded the late Sergeant W. 11. L. Brooks, whose death occurred at Masterton on Friday, July 26. The cortege, which left St. Patrick's Church, was a long one. The followers included a squad from the Awapuni Camp (under Sergeant Evans), the Municipal Silver Band, and a number of soldiers in uniform. The Defence Department was represented by Captain Martyn Roberts and Lieutenant IT. Drew. The pall-bearers were QuartermasterSergeant McCleary, Sergeant-Major Morris, SergeantMajor Cameron, Sergeant Chapman, Sergeant Caseley, and Sergeant Percy. A squad from the District High
School Cadets, under Sergeant-Major Malcolm, comprised the firing party, while the" "Last Post" was sounded by Cadet Eric Drew. The Right Rev. Mgr. McKenna, V.G., officiated in the church and at the interment.R.l. P.
