OBITUARY

SISTER M. ST. JOSEPH, INSTITUTE OF NOTRE DAME DES MISSIONS, CHRISTCHURCH. The Sisters of Notre Dame des Missions, Christchurch, have recently incurred a sad bereavement in the loss of one of their young religious, Sister M. St. Joseph Calasanctius (Teresa Guerin, of Geraldine). This young Sister was one of a band of three chosen to set out for the mission in India, where the works in charge of the Sisters of Notre Dame des Missions are urgently in need of more help, as since the war broke out the Sisters have been called upon to take over schools and orphanages formerly in charge of German Sisters, who have been repatriated. But God had other designs for Sister ,TVf. St. Joseph, who, in spite of her youth and health, was quickly called to her eternal reward by a sudden attack of appendicitis. An operation was performed, but in spite of every effort made to save her life, she gradually succumbed, and peacefully gave up her soul to God op the evening of April'R.l.P.
