THE MAORI MISSIONS

The Very Rev. Dean Van Dyk, Superior of the Maori Missions in the diocese of Auckland, spent a few days in Dunedin last week, and visited St. Andrews on Sunday. The Very Rev. Dean, who left on Tuesday last on his return to the North Island, expresses his sincere gratitude to his Lordship Bishop Brodie for the invitation he extended to the Missionary Fathers of St. Joseph to collect funds in his diocese for the upkeep of the missions, and for the generous response to their appeal met with in the various parishes visited, resulting in the very satisfactory amount of £SOO being received to assist the Missionary Fathers in their work among the Maoris.
