The deceased Sister had been in failing health for some time, so the end was not unexpected. The 18 years of her religious life had been spent in the education of children, especially the Native girls, for whom she had a great attraction. During her last illness Mother M. Father Dunphy as deacon and '■■ sub-: deacon respectively. Rev. Father O'Malley was master of ceremonies. The music of the, Mass was sung by Rev. After the last blessing the funeral cortege proceeded to the Panmure Cemetery. Right Rev. ELLEN COLLINS TE AWAMUTU. ~ We regret to record the death of Mrs. Ellen Collins, which sad event occurred after seven weeks' illness on September 20, at her residence, "Carbery," Alexandra Street, Te Awamutu. Mrs. Collins, who was 72 years of age, resided in this district for several years, where she was much respected. She lived at Rosscarbery, County Cork. Ireland, until she came to New Zealand about ten years ago. While here she was a constant visitor to the church, attending Mass every morning, and helped greatly in bringing about the conversion of several to the faith. She is survived by one son and two daughters Mr. Rickard Collins (Te Awamutu), Mrs. F. D. Corboy (Rangiatea, Otorohanga), and Miss Collins (Auckland). —R.I.P. VMR. DANIEL DUNSTAN AUCKLAND. A few days ago (writes a correspondent) there passed to his reward Daniel Dunstan, who was a familiar figure in the Home of the Little Sisters of the Poor at Auckland. He had a most unique record, as having been a server at God's altar for 75 years, and to within a few days of his death he fulfilled his duties as such in the home chapel. As a boy he served Mass for Cardinal Wiseman in London, before that illustrious prelate was created a prince of the Church. He also assisted as cross-bearer in the ceremonies of laying the foundation stone of Southwark Cathedral,: the first Catholic Cathedral built in England since the "Reformation." He was full of reminiscences of those strenuous times, when they burned in effigy his Eminence, and of the no Popery riots that kept the. city in a turmoil. He had been under the loving care of the good Sisters for over 20 years,. and was known throughout the different houses of the Order in France : ; and England. 'He was of a most retiring nature, • but ; always courtly : and ■ attentive to all : who t\ came in con;tact with him. His kindly presence will long be missed in the home.R.I.P. " , i - > .> -„ '":
