Souter, and Mutu and Te Weri (vocal duets). A medal each, donated by Messrs. Martin Hearn~ and D. Cullinane, was awarded to George Tuffin (captain) as best back and B. Connop (wing forward) as best forward. A lengthy toast-list was duly honored, special reference being made to the secretary, of the football club (Mr. E. Corliss), a patient
at the hospital as a result of a motor accident. During the evening the Rev. Father O'Farrell presented, on behalf of the members, Mr. T. P. Souter, director of the guild, with a valuable and useful gift. The recipient gratefully acknowledged the kind action s of the guild members, and the spirit which prompted them to make the presentation. The Marist Old Boys’ football team were “runners up’’ in the competition just concluded, having lost only one match at the opening of the season, and drawing with the winners in the final game. The team’s points in the competition were 246 for, and 29 against a very creditable performance for its first season’s play.
