(From our own correspondent.) The usual fortnightly meeting of St. Matthew’s (ladies’) branch of the Hibernian Society was held on Monday evening, April 16. Sister D. Smyth, 8.P., presided, and there was a full attendance of officers and a good number of members. Sister Rose Rodgers was installed in the office of secretary, Sister M. Smyth of treasurer, and Sister C. O’Connor, in that of sick visitor. The president wished them a happy term of office. One new member was initiated. Sister Brophy, who has fully recovered from the effects of a recent accident, leaves for Methven as presbytery attendant to the Rev. Father Price, the sincere good wishes of sister Hibernians being extended to her. ST. MARY’S BRANCH. St. Mary’s Branch (No. 624) H.A.C.B. Society, held its ordinary meeting on Monday evening, April 16. B.P. P. Gunn presided, and there was a good attendance of members. The secretary (Bro. H. Johnston), being away on holidays was replaced by the assistant secretary (Bro. W. J. Moir), and the usual routine business was expeditiously transacted. One candidate was nominated for' membership. The branch is promoting a social reunion to eventuate in the near future. ' £ ~ ' u **' % ST. PATRICK’S BRANCH. Bro. J. Flannelly,B.P., presided at the ordinary meeting of -St. 1 Patrick’s Branch (No. 82), held in the Hibernian Hall on April 19. There was a full roll of officers and a good attendance of members. The report

of the sick visitors that one of the oldest members of the branch (Bro. M. Daly, who has been for a very long time in failing health), had undergone a successful operation in Lewisham Hospital and was improving in health as the result, was received with great pleasure by the members. Bro. Daly has the kindly wishes of many friends, especially in Hibernian circles. It was suggested that a roll of honor be erected in the meeting room of the branch, and Bro. J. M. Coffey's offer to have one erected and inscribed free of cost was gratefully accepted. Members desire to place on record the generosity to the society displayed by Bro. Coffey on many occasions. The branch welcomes as a medical attendant to its members Dr. J. A. McKinnon (a Catholic doctor), replacing Dr. Marks, who is now with the Expeditionary Forces. '
