Monsignor Byrne, V.G.. Brisbane, visited Dunedin this week. The Very Rev. Father Cullen, CM. (Provincial), left on Tuesday by the Riverina on his return to Sydney. The Very Rev. Father Cullen, CM. (Provincial), preached at Vespers in St. Joseph's Cathedral on Sunday last a fine discourse on Catholic faith. The annual Irish National concert was given on Tuesday evening, in the presence of an overflowing audience, at His Majesty's Theatre. Extreme pressure on our space necessitates the holding over of an extended notice of the event until our next issue. On Saturday, March 17 (St. Patrick's Day), Masses will be celebrated in St. Patrick's Basilica, South Dunedin, at six and seven o'clock, and at half-past nine there will be Solemn High Mass, Coram Episcopo. A panegyric on the Apostle of Ireland will be preached by the Rev. Dr. Kelly. The annual Triduum preparatory to the Feast of the Apostle of Ireland, was commenced in St. Patrick's Basilica, South Dunedin, on Wednesday, Masses being celebrated at seven and half-past eight o'clock. At half-past seven each evening there are Triduum prayers, followed by Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament.
