DISTRESS IN IRELAND

RIGHT REV. M. VERDON, D.D. (Bishop of Dunedin), Treasurer. * * We children of the greater Ireland, the Ireland beyond the seas, may have wandered far from our mother country, but who can say in scorn that we have ever denied her, or refused to bear blame for her, or been backward in her quarrel She is ours and always shall be ours. We can never give up our share in that holy land which the dead of our people guard for us, of the dispersion, as well as for those at home. Have not, then, the stricken sufferers of Dublin, who are bone of our bone, flesh of our flesh, a right to look to us in their need, to demand our help? The Irish way of giving is to give more than you think you can afford, to give until the sacrifice begins to pinch. And when the comfort, perhaps the existence, of many of our own, our very own, is at stake during the approaching winter, who shall say it is not a case for practising this best way of giving ? Double, therefore, what you intended sending last week. All Subscriptions, big and small, small and big, with name or without name, welcomed. Subscriptions to Date :
