The Timaru parish committee of the Catholic Federation are busy making preparations for a big Federation rally, which is to be held on next Sunday evening October 1, in the Girls’ School Hall. His Lordship Bishop Brodie, will preside, and, Mr. W. D. Poppelwell, of Gore, will deliver an address on Federation. The secretary of the parish committee has received a letter from Dr. J. R. Loughnan asking permission to withdraw his resignation, in view of the fact that the Dominion Council has rescinded the resolution to which he took exception. This action by the Dominion Council gave the committee much satisfaction.
