ANSWERS TO CORRESPONDENTS.
J.H., Nelson.—Before applying any form of hair stain the hair should be shampooed or washed and - thoroughly dried. Apply the dye with a small tooth-brush, and see that it is evenly distributed over the grey hair. We recommend the Imperial Hair Stain, 4s 6d., all shades, and made in England. It is safe and easily applied.
Mother. —Egg shampoos are very cleansing. To make them, take the yolks of three eggs, carefully strained from the whites, beat well with three tablespoonfuls of warm water and one of powdered Castile soap. We can supply ‘ Calvo ’ Egg Shampoo powders, which you will find much better and ready for use at any time; price, 6d ; or 5s per doz.
Mrs. , Hutt.—lt is unnecessary to wash your combings, as they become hopelessly matted. Our charge is 2s fid per oz. for making them up.
Further replies by letter —Mrs. Rolleston, 256 Lambton Qua yr, and Cathedral Square, Christchurch. AHvt,
