BUTLER.—Missing and wounded (now believed killed in action), August 8, 1915, at Gallipoli, William Joseph Ignatius Butler, the dearly beloved son of William and Mary Butler,-of Shannon, and grandson of the late Joseph and Julianna Reany, High street, Dunedin, in his 21st year. On whose soul, sweet Heart' of Jesus and Mary, have mercy. CLARKE. —On July 30, 1916, from wounds received whilst in action in France, Captain Peter Clarke (Trench Mortar Battery), fifth son of Mrs. Clarke, Fraser street, Temuka; aged 29 years. —R.I.P. McMAHON.—Killed in action in France, on July 12, 1916, Eugene Joseph (Gene), dearly beloved third son of Ellen and the late Timothy McMahon, McQuarries street, South Invercargill, in his 23rd year.—R.l.P. SCANLAN. — July 15, 1916 (died of wounds re- " ceived while in action in Fra.nne'L Patrick Joseph Scanlan, dearly beloved youngest son of the late Thomas and Mary Scanlan, of Milton, brother of Thomas Scanlan, of Paekariki, and nephew of Patrick and Mrs. Walsh, 16 Carlyle street, North-East Valley; aged 23 years.—R.l.P.
