* / J The Rev: Father. T. J. McCarthy, S.M., has been engaged in mission work in. the Reefton district (the largest parish/ in New Zealand) for the last two weeks. The success of the missions has surpassed all expectations. Three places; out of twelve, have 1 been visited, and, out of two hundred people only a few failed to attend the mission. The number of Communions in ' each of these three places—Boatmans, Cronadun, Ikamatua—exceeded . anything before. Father McCarthy,' who, by the way, is an '.eloquent and impressive preacher, is to give a (missiorV. in Reefton, and, needless to say, it : will she;? a great success.) . Missions will , also be given at Murchison, . Lyell, Inangahua Junction, Waiuta, Blackwater, Big River, and Hinau. The Rev. /Fathers Taylor, S.M., and Herring, 5.M.,will help Father McCarthy in that great work.. i;
