Mr. J. A. Scott, Editor of . the Tablet, who has been on a health trip to Australia for the past couple of months, returned to Dunedin last week. There was Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament from the 11 o’clock Mass until after Vespers on Bunday at St. Joseph’s Cathedral. In : the evening there was the usual procession, followed by Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament. ' Mr C. Little, president of the particular council of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, Auckland, who is on a visit to Dunedin, addressed the committee of St. Joseph’s conference of the society on Sunday evening, and also gave an interesting address on the work of the society in Auckland to the members of the conference on Tuesday evening in St. Joseph’s Hall. The St. Patrick’s conference of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, South Dunedin, was favored at their usual fortnightly meeting, on Tuesday of . last week,’ with a visit from Mr.' Little, president of St. Patrick’s conference (men’s /branch)'',. members a •very, interesting ,-account of the conferences in Auckland, and was accorded a hearty vote of thanks.- v l > • The week’s mission for the children of the parish was brought to' a close *on Sunday afternoon in St. Patrick’s f Basilica, South Dunedin, by Rev. .Father Mageean/ C.SS.R. ‘ The fortnight’s mission for the adults of the parish, which is being conducted by the Rev. Fathers Mangan and Mageean, C.SS.R., was opened by the latter at the 11 o’clock Mass on Sunday. Father Mageean preached in the morning, and also in the evening. ■ - - ‘ CATHOLIC SEWING GUILD. s The Catholic Sewing Guild for Belgian relief hold their meetings as usual on Wednesday afternoons workers are cordially invited, and all gifts of clothing, material, and money will be very thankfully received. The following donations have been received Mrs. M. S. Gards' (Christchurch), 10s j Miss Jacques (Christchurch), babies’ bonnets.
