O’Neill, of Riversdale, who has been appointed a military chaplain, has received instructions to present himself at the Trentham Camp on March 29. •'■ : On Sunday in connection with the Feast of St. Patrick'the members of both branches of the Hibernian Society received Holy Communion at the 9 o’clock Mass at St. Patrick’s Basilica, South Dunedin. ' The members, to the number of over 100 in regalia, marched in procession from the schoolroom to the c imcli. Rev. Father D. O’Neill, who was celebrant 01 the Mass, delivered an appropriate address, in the course of which he complimented the members on their good muster, dwelt on the benefits arising from membership of the society, and strongly exhorted all young men to join its ranks. On the Feast of St. Patrick, Solemn High Mass, at which his Lordship Bishop Verdon presided, was celebrated at 9.30 o’clock in St. Patrick’s .Basilica, South Dunedin. Rev. Father Liston (Rector of Holy Cross College) was celebrant. Rev. Father Collins (Holy Cross College) deacon, Rev. Father D. O’Neill subdeacon, and Rev. Father Delany master of'ceremonies. Very Rev. Father Coffey, Adm. St. Joseph’s Cathedral, and Rev. Father Tobin were present in the sanctuary. The panegyric of the Apostle of Ireland was preached by the Rev. Father E. Lynch (Holy Cross College). The music of the Mass was very nicely rendered by the children s choir. There was a congregation present, and also at the early Mass, when large numbers approached the Holy Table. f REDEMPTORIST MISSIONS IN OTAGO. Since the middle of January five Redemptorist Fathers from Wellington have been engaged in giving missions in South and Central Otago. The Rev. Fathers Barry and Kelly, C.SS.R., gave a fortnight’s mission in Gore. Afterwards a week’s mission was ■given in the outlying districts of Wyndham, Mataura, and Clinton. ■ . The Rev. Fathers O’Sullivan and Byrne, C.SS.R., gave a fortnight’s mission in Milton and the surrounding districts. The same missionaries spent the .two following weeks in the parish of Wrey’s Bush and Nightcaps. . ■ ‘ ' The Very Rev. Father Roche, C.SS.R., brought to a close on the Feast of St. Patrick, a month’s mission in the extensive parish of Riversdale. On Sunday last, March' 19, the Very Rev. Father Roche and Rev..
