WEDDING BELLS

F AH Y—KERR. A marriage, in which a good deal of interest was taken, was solemnised at St. Patrick’s Church, Rakahouka, on Wednesday, January 12, when Miss Elizabeth Catherine Kerr, second daughter of Mrs. Arthur Kerr, of Dacre, Southland, was united in marriage to Mr. Patrick Fahy, fourth son of Mr. M. Fahy, Athenry, County Galway, Ireland. Rev. Father Woods, of Invercargill, performed the ceremony, and celebrated the- Nuptial Mass. The bride, who was given away by her brother (Mr. J. F. Kerr), was dressed in ivory crepe-de-chine, and wore a wreath and beautifully embroidered veil (the gift of the Sisters of Mercy, South Dunedin), and carried an ivory-bound prayer-book, the gift of the bridegroom. Miss Mary Kerr, who attended her sister as bridesmaid, wore a pretty dress of white striped voile and white hat, with tjny pink roses, and carried a beautiful bouquet of roses, sweet peas, and maiden-hair fern. Mr. John Fahy, of Christchurch (brother of 'the bridegroom) acted as best man. After the ceremony the guests were entertained at the residence of the bride’s mother, when the usual toast list was gone through. The duties of chairman were efficiently. carried out by Mr. James Burke. The bride and bridegroom were the recipients of many beautiful and valuable presents, including a number of substantial cheques. They motored to the evening train en- route for Dunedin, where a short honeymoon was spent. ' _ The bride’s travelling costume was a brown tailored costume with dainty white hat.
