'Senior-Sergeant King, of Timaru, has received: a letter from his son, Lieutenant. T. J. King, in which the writer states that he has been promoted to the rank of first lieutenant. Lieutenant King,, who left with the Main Body, is attached to the Ordnance Division, and at the time of writing (October 18) was serving on an ordnance ship, which was then lying ,in Mudros harbor, but he expected to go into camp in the course of a few days. He describes the climate as being cool and bracing, and not as hot as that of Alexandria. During his stay in Mudros he met Lieut, - Colonel E. J. O’Neill, of,the N.Z.M.A.C., who went fponi Piiugdfo with the Main Body. .
