(From our own correspondent.) August 2. During this and next week the Government inspectors are to pay their annual visit of inspection to the schools of the parish. On Wednesday morning next at 9 o’clock, a Solemn Requiem Mass is to be celebrated for the repose of the souls of those who have fallen whilst fighting for the Empire. On Sunday there was Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament all day, and at the evening devotions the usual procession- took place. An appropriate sermon was preached by Rev. Father Seymour, S.M. As a result of their late social, the executive of the Celtic Football Club have given to Mrs. Loughnan a cheque for XIB to purchase material for her Catholic Girls’ Guild. The members of the guild are at present very busy making garments to be sent home tor the use of the soldiers during the coming winter months.
