The. meat cargo sent away from New Zealand by the Hawke’s Bay a few days ago constituted a record for New Zealand. It was equivalent to 125,627 mutton carcases, and was valued at £157,034. Up.to date the value of the meat purchased in New Zealand on behalf of the Imperial Government since the new scheme was inaugurated totals nearly one million pounds.
