CONVENT SCHOOL, FEILDING

The annual concert given by the Convent School pupils took place in the parish hall on December 16. The first part of the entertainment took the form of choruses and instrumental items, which evoked wellmerited applause from the largo audience. One item, song and drill,, ‘ Good night,’ by the tiny tots came in for special attention. In fact, a feature of the evening was the splendid work of the little ones, which reflected great credit on the teachers. N During the interval his Worship the Mayor (Mr. A. M. Ongley), on behalf of the Sisters and pupils, thanked the audience for their attendance, and congratulated the Sisters on the splendid -results of their training and teaching as evidenced by the entertainment provided and the successes of the pupils in examinations during the year. His Worship then read the list of examinations passed and prize-winners for the year, and pointed out that would be a gracious acknowledgment of the good work done by the teachers if the parents came forward next year with liberal donations to the prize fund. He then called for three cheers for the Sisters, which were heartily given. The operetta, ‘Queen Flora’s Day Dream,’ occupied the second half of the programme. The pupils exhibited a good appreciation of their parts and the performance'' well merited the applause at the conclusion.
