ST. JOSEPH’S SCHOOL, OAMARU

, -The pupils of. this school gladly relinquished their prizes this year in favor of the Belgian relief fund, and were pleased to receive certificates of merit in place of them.

Right Rev. Monsignor Mackay, who presided at the distribution, advised the children to treasure their certificates. Though they might not be as valuable as prizes, still they would be mementos of the brave Belgians and of their own desire to help in relieving the starving people. ’ He wished them a pleasant holiday and hoped to see everyone back on the opening day, each: resolved not to miss one day at school for the year 1915.
