OBITUARY
' ME. MARTIN RYAN, HASTINGS. There passed away at his residence, Heretaunga street, Hastings, last, week, a very, old and , esteemed resident of Hawke’s Bay in the person of. Mr. Martin Bradshaw Ryan, at the age of 75 years. Deceased had been ailing for a long time, and the end - was not unexpected. The late Mr. Ryan was a native of Limerick,' and arrived in the Dominion in 1865. He had been a resident of Hastings for the past six years, and resided in Napier for thirty years, being at one time proprietor of the Criterion Hotel in that city. The late Mr. Ryan was of a quiet and unassuming disposition, and his death will be regretted by a large circle of friends. He leaves a widow and two sons, Messrs. Richard and . Joseph Ryan, and one daughter, Mrs. T. Lindsay, of Waipawa, who will have the sympathy of the whole community in their sad bereavement. A son of the deceased (Mr. J. L. Ryan) predeceased his father only two months ago. The body was taken to the Sacred Heart ; Church the following evening. -R.I.R.> - % ; ■ v; _ . •
