At the request of the teachers' committee controlling schools' football in Invercargill, a match eventuated last Saturday between the Marist team, premiers for the past three years, and a combination from the various town schools. The wearers of the Green and Black made up in dash, fearlessness, and combination what they conceded in size and weight by engaging in such a contest. Eventually they ran out victors, by 9 points to nil, and had not much difficulty, under the greatest of all tests, of keeping their line intact. Cook secured two tries and Wells scored one.
