ST. MARY’S CONVENT HIGH SCHOOL, PONSONBY

A very large and representative gathering assembled at St. Mary 's Convent High School for the annual ' distribution of prizes. A very sparkling and. effective programme of music and elocution ’ was - keenly enjoyed by the audience, after which his Lordship Bishop Cleary and the Mayor addressed the assembly, speaking in eulogistic terms of the’work of the Sisters of Mercy. The prizes were presented by Bishop Cleary, the Mayor (Mr. Parr), and Mrs. Parr. Rev. Father Ormond read the prize list. Among the visitors were the Very Rev. Father O’Connell, S.M., Rev. Fathers Doyle, Tormey,? Golden, O’Doherty, O’Malley, Rev. Brother George, and Rev. brother Benignus.
