(From our own correspondent.) March 1. Mr. E. Ryan, a member of the local branch of the H.A.C.B. Society, won the hop-step-and-jump at the Junior club sports held last Wednesday night, and his brother, Mr. J. Ryan, was placed second. „ Ladies will sing in the choir for the first time' next Sunday. Up to now Petone..! has always had a good male choir, but owing to changes and transfers it has been necessary to call on the ladies for assistance. ■ "'"'
