Cheney referred to the fact that during the past seven years the roll of - membership had doubled. The membership in Victoria increased from 2439 members last term to 2690 a gain of 51 members. On Saturday children’s sports were held on the Agricultural Show Grounds during the day, when there was an attendance of fully 20,000 persons, and an Irish national concert was given in the Town Hall in the evening. At three o’clock in the. afternoon Mr. Richard Hazleton, M.P., delivered the occasional oration in connection with the festival, having been-introduced by his Grace the Archbishop of Sydney. There was a crowded house at the concert, in fact half an hour before the proceedings were advertised to commence the doors had to be closed, and hundreds refused admittance.
