OBITUARY

MR. JOHN MELICAN, NEWMARKET. We regret to have to report the death of Mr. John Mehcan, Newmarket, Auckland. Mr. Melican, who was in his seventy-fifth year, was well and widely known in Otago during the early days. The deceased, who leaves a grown-up family (including Messrs. M. and J. Melican of the N.Z. Railways) was respected by all with whom lie came in contact, and will be much missed by a large circle of sorrowing friends.R.l.P.
