WEDDING BELLS

MOREY—POWER. A very pretty wedding (writes our Christchurch correspondent) was solemnised in the Cathedral on November 9, the contracting parties being Mr. P. H. Morey, eldest son of Mr. H. A. Morey, of Whangarei, and Miss Mary Lucy (May) Power, second daughter of Mr. Jamy. Power, Thackeray street, Sydenham, Christchurch. The Very Rev. Father Price, Adm., celebrated the Nuptial Mass and officiated at the marriage ceremony. The bride, who was given away by her father, was charmingly attired in cream silk crystalline, with wreath and veil, and carried a beautiful bouquet of cream roses. The bridesmaids were Misses Agnes and Grace Power (sisters), and Misses Winnie and Maggie Coomber (cousins of the bride) were flower girls. Mr. T. Power filled the position of best man, and Mr. J. Power, jun., that of groomsman (both cousins of the bride). After the ceremony the wedding party assembled at the residence of the bride's father, where the breakfast was partaken of in a prettily decorated marquee. Many beautiful and costly presents were received by the happy couple, including a cheque for a substantial amount, and were viewed with great interest by the assembled guests. By the evening steamer the newly-wedded couple left on a honeymoon trip to the North Island, including a visit to the home of the bridegroom's parents, Bay of Islands, and thence to their future home in Auckland.
