Late Bunside Stock Report
Sheep. — 2321 yarded. A medium yarding of good quality. Prices at the commencement of the sale were slightly firmer than last week's, but later the sale showed little competition, and an easing tendency was noticeable. Quotations: Best wethers, 18s to 20s; extra, to 235,; medium, 16s 6d to 17s 6d; inferior, - 14s 9d to 15s 6d; best ewes, 16s; medium, 13s 6d to 14s 6d.
Lambs. — Forty-nine of the new season's lambs were penned, all coming from the Tokomairiro "district or from the Taieri Plains. The condition generally was good, and the number was considered satisfactory for the time -of the year. The sale was' brisk, prices ranging from 13s 9d to 245. ""*
Cattle. — 214 yarded;, a large entry of average quality cattle. At the beginning of the sale prices ruled much the same as on last sale day, eased slightly later on. Quotations: Best bullocks, £.9 to £10 ss; extras, to £11; medium, £7 15s to £8 10s;' inferior, £6 5s to £6 15s; best cows and heifers, £5 15s to £6 15s; best cows and heifers, £5 15s to £6 10s; extra, to £8 ss; medium, £5 to £5 ss; inferior, £4 to £4 15s. Pigs. — 110 yarded. Young pigs were in keen demand owing to the small number yarded, and went up from 2s to 3s per head. Quotations : Suckers, 17s to £1 ; slips, 2ds to 28s; stores, 33s to 38s. , •
