OBITUARY

MRS. ANNIE TUOHY,, WESTPORT. It is with deep regret, that we have to record the death of Mrs. Annie Tuohy, relict of the late Mr. J. J. Tuohv, (s o ---lon? connected with the N. Z. Police Force), which occurred at the Westport Hospital, on April 5, alter a brief illness. The deceased ia>dy was a native o f Galway. The late Mrs. Tuohy, fwho was iust sixty-seven years of age, w?." a most exemplary 'Catholic, and was always 'an active supporter of any movement thair tended to advance the cause oE the Church. She was a v&lued member of the Altar scci°ty, and was also a member of ithe Sacred Heart Association. She was of a very kindl/ and amiable disposition, and her death will be deeply jregretted by a large circle of friends throughout the Dominion. The late Mrs- 'Tuohy arrived at the Bluff in the early sixties from Melbourne, and settled with Her husband

in Invercargill. Amongst her most valued friends la th o se days, was the late Very Rev. Dean Martin. .She leaves a grown-up family to mourn their- loss, and to whom the sincere sympathy of I/he community- has been extended in their sad bereavement. Mrs. Tuohy was prc-deceased by her husband by about five years. The Yen. jArchpriest Walshc and the Rev. Father Bergin were in attendance jpuor to her death.
