(From our own correspondent.) April 10. Rev. Father Williams left last Friday to take the position of assistant priest at Waihi. Rev. Father Tigar, 0.P., addressed St. Benedict's conference oi St. Vincent de Paul last Wednesday evening. Last Sunday Mass was celebrated' at Avondale by Father Tigar. The parishioners have decided to erect a church in the district. The addresses to his Eminence Cardinal Moran from Auckland have now boon splendidly arranged in one large album, and will be forwarded to his Eminence this month. i A conference of the representatives of the several Catluolic Young Men's Clubs is to he held in Auckland 1 at Easter. Very great interest is evinced over the important gathering. , To-day the news was published that the American Fleet had accepted the Prime Minister's invitation, and would visit Auckland. Our harbor is capable of sheltering a much larger fleet than Admiral E.vans is bringing out. A great reception will be accorded the officers and men. , M , r - A. N. Myers, our present Mayor, has consented to stand for a fourth term, much to the gratification of a large body of the citizens.
