' The object of the Mariot Fathers in this country, as in their colleges in Europe and America, is to impart to their pupilß a thoroughly Religious and a sound Literary education, which will enable them in after-life to dißchar ge their duties with honour to Religion und Society, and with oredt and advantage to themselves Students are prepared for the N.Z. University Junior and Senior Civil Service, Medical Entrance, Solicitors' General Knowl edge, Bank and all other Public Examinations. Btudentß not preparing for the learned Professions have the advantage of a Speoial Commercial Course, under efficient management, where they are taught all that will be of use in mercantile pursuits. Speoial attention is also paid to the teaching of Physical Science, for which purpeße the Colege possesses a large Laboratory and Demonstration Hall. Yooal Music, Elocution, Drawing, and' all other branches of a Liberal Education receive due attention. Physical culture is attended to by a competent Drill Instructor who trains the students three times a week in Drill, Rifle Practice and Gymnastics. A large aid well-equipped Gymnasium is attached to the College. . The religious and moral training of the pupils is an object of speoial care, and particular attention is bestowed en the teaching of Christian Doctrine..
